One of the most important problems for our planet is the degradation and deforestation of green areas. To date, around 30% of the land is still covered with woodland, however, every year around the world 13 million hectares of forest are destroyed to meet the growing need for paper, meat, soy, palm oil and wood.

Plants are considered the lungs of our planet because they function just like the organs that are named after us: they absorb carbon dioxide during photosynthesis and, in return, they release oxygen into the atmosphere. This means that forests guarantee an effective lowering of the level of carbon dioxide produced by the respiration of animals, fossil fuels, the eruption of volcanoes and other natural phenomena caused by man.

How can we stop deforestation? First of all protecting the wooded areas of our territories, adopting behaviors that respect the environment. Secondly we can prefer the use of products with thought to be more ecological and far from disposable packaging, supporting companies that choose and engage in eco-sustainable behavior.

For years our company has been using advertising material, packaging and tools for the presentation of cold cuts deriving from wood and paper coming from controlled-management forests marked FSC®. The Forest Stewardship Council is an international non-governmental and non-profit association that promotes the responsible management of forests in the world.

For us also the use of green energy is very important, in fact, in 2011, we created a new photovoltaic system covering our plant: 2650 high energy efficiency photovoltaic panels capable of producing 200 thousand kwh per year, equal to 20 % of company needs. Not only that, but all the sectors of the company are involved in this attention to the environment and sustainability with the creation of eco-friendly offices (separate collection, use of paper and recycled materials, remanufactured toner cartridges, cardboard furniture and furnishings recycled).
